The date, “1954,” in the lower left edge of recto refers to the year when Henri-Georges Clouzot’s film Diabolique was made. The label, pasted on the verso, was clipped from an exhibition catalogue.
This collage was exhibited in 1990 at Gracie Mansion’s in the exhibition “A Century of Art – Almost”
